This lovely all-brick home resides on Lake Jeanette in Greensboro. These homeowners were looking for a place to enjoy the view from the back of there home but there were some constraints limiting the size of the porch. One design technique to make a porch feel larger and airier is to elevate the roof. We designed a hip roof to attach to the home’s existing roof. We also used slender profile black railing. Because of the dark color and slender profile, the eye is drawn past the railing into the yard and view beyond. The ceiling is finished with painted beadboard and a ceiling fan was installed for air circulation. The porch flooring is AZEK low-maintenance PVC flooring. Coming complete with a 25-year fade and stain warranty, this composite flooring is as beautiful as it is a sound investment for your outdoor space. The paint color was carefully selected to ensure the posts and beadboard ceiling were a perfect complementary color to the brick home.
