AZEK Kona and Sedona Composite Deck in Oak Ridge NC

We had the opportunity to upgrade a deck for some Oak Ridge customers, whose sense of style and eye for detail rival those of an editor at Better Homes and Gardens. The project included a stunning new AZEK composite deck featuring deck installation techniques and an AZEK color duo that proved both harmonious and captivating.

They wanted areas suitable for eating and conversation with good flow between the two deck areas. We set the eating area closer to the home entrance, keeping the travel distance for food and dishes to a minimum. When you look at the decking, you can see that the flooring on the two sections is on opposing diagonals with a double picture frame border in between. This is an incredibly subtle but effective visual cue for separating the two spaces.

Working with a custom Winston Salem deck builder is key to achieving a deck that speaks to your unique style!

You can match furniture to them or create pops of color, as our customers did with their furniture pillows and container plants. The diagonals look elegant, while guiding the eye across the deck and into the yard. The configuration is also more structurally sound than horizontal or vertical planking.

Many customers choose the picture frame border for its visual appeal. These clients wanted to double the size of the border to make a bolder statement. We love how this one turned out. This border will also aid people in avoiding falls because it silently announces a potential change in elevation.

We have been building composite decks in the Greensboro area since 1991!

The white vinyl rails complement the white trim on the rest of the home and make the deck almost seem like a room with walls. They provide a neutral backdrop for pots of flowering annuals and will amplify any lighting strung on them for holidays or special events. The all-weather wicker chairs with ample pillows soften the space, inviting friends and family to really linger and enjoy their time outside.

Also notice the fascia board and the lattice skirting. Some customers leave these details off because of the extra cost, but they really make a project look complete, hiding joists and whatever is stored beneath the deck. Here we matched the fascia to the darker picture frame border in Kona and the white diamond lattice to the railing.
